Dotmocracy in Action: Oxley Community Votes on New Nature Play Area Design
Songbird Oxley recently held a Community Day where visitors were invited to participate in a ‘dotmocracy’ activity to vote for their preferred nature play area design.
The event was a huge success, with people of all ages enjoying the various activities and entertainment on offer.
Children were treated to face painting, nature play, and art activities, while adults had access to a community info hub and a delicious community BBQ. Live music added to the festive atmosphere, making it a day filled with fun, laughter, and excitement for all.
The highlight of the event was the ‘dotmocracy’ activity, where visitors voted for their preferred design for a new nature play area. The winning design, ‘Recreation Park – Playground Option A,’ was chosen by the community and will be the basis for the new nature space at Songbird Oxley.
While the community is thrilled with the outcome, it is important to note that the approval of nature play design is subject to Council approval. Nonetheless, Songbird Oxley is excited to share further updates on this exciting new nature play space and encourages everyone to keep an eye on their socials for more information.
The success of the Community Day was due to the overwhelming support and participation of the community, and Songbird Oxley would like to thank everyone who came out and made the event a huge success.
